The movie follows the adventures of Tine, a promising Belgian academic who moved to Tuscany to pursue her PhD. Between cypress trees and sweltering summers, she growed the hope to transcend her European roots. One very hot summer weekend in 2024 she floated happily in the pool, drinking beer, playing sports, grilling burgers while chilling to the music, and then making music herself with an ukulele. “Do you want more sunscreen on your back dear? You are starting to be a bit coloured” her friends asked. “I am good” she replied enthusiastically, “I think I am getting used to this by now!” She was in fact not good, as her back showed to her the next day. But this did not stop her. Even prone to sunburns, you can still find her floating, grilling and chilling next to the pool. Hopefully with a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate the defense soon.
